Located at 217 West State Street in Sharon, the PA CareerLink Mercer County is the recent recipient of the Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce Phoenix Award for a non-profit or service organization.
 
The PA CareerLink Mercer County attracted more than 22,000 job seekers and more than 1,200 employers in 2005. This PA CareerLink office – the westernmost in the commonwealth – placed 75 percent of applicants receiving services into jobs, and serves approximately 100 individuals daily.
 
Through close cooperation with the regional Workforce Investment Board, PA CareerLink Mercer County continues to create a skilled workforce capable of meeting employers’ needs and attracting new businesses to the area.

Pennsylvania CareerLink Mercer County is the recipient of a Keystone Blind Association (KBA) Good Neighbor Award for 2006. The award is presented to organizations and agencies whose cooperation helps further KBA’s efforts to maintain and improve the quality of life for blind and/or visually impaired persons, prevent blindness and provide employment opportunities and advocacy for people with disabilities.

Angela Palumbo, site administrator at the PA CareerLink Mercer County, is named Outstanding Mentor of the Year by the Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce for the 2006 Leadership Shenango graduating class.
