Labor and Industry Advisory Council on Advanced Manufacturing
Recognizing that manufacturing is a critical economic sector within the Commonwealth and desiring to assist this sector towards economic recovery, the Pennsylvania Workforce Investment Board (PA WIB) decided on September 30, 2009 to create the Pennsylvania Center for Advanced Manufacturing Careers, now known as the Labor & Industry Advisory Council on Advanced Manufacturing. The Council's overriding mission will be to develop long-term strategies aimed at averting and reversing the decline of manufacturing jobs in Pennsylvania.
Whenever possible, the Council will build on and promote statewide the best practices already developed by existing industry-led regional manufacturing Industry Partnerships, successful local economic development initiatives and our educational systems successes.
The Council will be guided by a Leadership Council consisting of manufacturing employers, labor representatives, AMDM Industry Partnership representatives and other leaders in workforce development, economic development and education.
